Grant began his career through an apprenticeship with a Dundee architecutre practice in 2004, where he worked until 2018. Seeking to further his career, Grant Joined the James Paul Associates LLP team in February 2019 as a trained Architectural Technician. He brings with him a broad array of skills and project experience from a diverse range of projects, from multi-million pound public buildings to domestic residential extensions. Grant’s experience includes key projects in the Educational, Arts, Leisure & Hospitality and Residential sectors, both new build and refurbishment.
Grant studied a HND diploma in Construction & Architectural Technology at Dundee & Angus College. He has a number of key roles at JPA including carrying out measured building surveys & inspections, collaborating with Architects, designers and various Engineering Consultants, preparing designs through design stages, attaining statutory approvals and assisting with onsite supervision.
Grant’s speciality within the practice lies in his technical research and detailed design solutions to complex Architectural challenges. Although vital to the practice’s production of detailed drawings, he is also talented in other aspects including graphic design work using Photoshop, Sketch up packages and Revit/BIM to support the changing needs within the architectural/construction sector.
Outside of work Grant is very active, with many competitive hobbies including golf, tennis and in particular table tennis of which he is a volunteer and qualified coach at Forthill Community Sports Hub. When relaxing he enjoys spending time with his wife and the family including his nephew and niece.
